Financial Assistance & Low-Cost Veterinary Care Resources
We know the veterinary care can be an unexpected and sometimes overwhelming expense. If the cost of your pet's care is making it difficult to move forward with recommended treatment, please let our team know. There may be financial assistance, grants, or payment options that can help.
We have put together the resources below to help families find additional support. Each organization has its own elligibilty requirements and available funding, so assistance is not guaranteed.
Financial Assistance & Veterinary Care Grants
The organizations below may be able to provide financial assistance towards veterinary care for qualifying families. When applying, ask whether assistance can be used for care at your veterinary hospital and whether they need and estimate, diagnosis, medical records, or other documentations.
Seattle Humane Financial Assistance
Seattle Humane offers several progrmas to help families experiencing financial hardships, housing insecurities, or unexpected veterinary expenses.
Programs include:
- Pet Owner Assistance Fund, which helps families facing high or unexpected pet care costs
- Polly's Pocket Fund, which can help with lifesaving or life-extending treatment for sick or injured pets
- Svanee's Last Chance Fund, which provides limited assistance for certain urgent but treatable conditions, including some cases pyometram, gastrointestinal obstruction, feline urethral obstruction, fractures requiring amputation, parvovirus, and panleukopenia
Funding is limited and eligibily varies by program.

Seattle Humane Financial Assistance
Rainier Animal Fund
Rainier Animal Fund helps families experiencing significant financial hardship who cannot afford the full cost of their pet's veterinary care. Assistance may be available through scheduled clinics or individual grants.
PACK: People for Animal Care and Kindness
PACK provides veterinary care grants for pet owners who are seniors, have low or no income, or are experiencing homelessness.
STARelief and Pet Assistance
STARelief provides financial assistance and other resources to families experiencing financial hardships. Assistance may be available for routine or emergency veterinary care depending on eligibility and available funding.
Frankie's Friends
Frankie's Friends provides grants for lifesaving emergency or specialty veterinary care when a family cannot afford the full cost of treatment.
The Pet Fund
The Pet Fund provides financial assistance to pet owners in the Usnited States who need veterinary care. Eligibility requirements and available funding apply.
MyPetChild Pet Financial Aid Program
MyPetChild offers one-time grants of up to $200 to qualifying pet owners experiencing financial hardship. Grants can be used towards certain non-routine, non-emergency veterinary care.

RedRover Relief Urgent Care Grants
RedRover provides financial assistance to pet owners experiencing financial hardhsips when a pet is facing a life-threating situation. Their grants are intended for urgent veterinary care.
The Onyx & Breezy Foundation
The Onyx & Breezy Foundation provides financial assistance for pets experiencing medical hardship. Eligibility and available funding vary.
Paws 4 A Cure
Paws 4 A Cure provides financial assistance for qualifying urgent veterinary care.
The Mosby Foundation
The Mosby Foundation provides assistance to limited-income dog owners experiencing qualifying veterinary circumstances.
Pets of the Homeless
Pets of the Homeless provides resources and assistance for people experiencing homelessness, including support related to emergency veterinary care and wellness.
The Budkis Fund
The Budkis Fund provides assistance with emergency veterinary care for qualifying low-income seniors in certain communities in the South King County and Pierce County areas.
Low-Cost Community Veterinary Care
If ongoing or routine veterinary care is not financially accessible, the following community programs may offer free or reduced-cost services to qualifying families.
Doney Coe Pet Clinic
Doney Coe Pet Clinic provides veterinary care to qualifying low-income and unhoused individuals and their pets. Their services are more limited than those available at a full-service veterinary hospital, but they may be a helpful option for basic and preventative care.
Doney Coe currently asks for a $20 exam contribution per pet per visit for most clients. Visits remain free for people experiencing homelessness.
Seattle Veterinary Outreach
Seattle Veterinary Outreach provides free and sliding-scale veterinary care through mobile community clinics for people who are unhoused or experiencing financial hardship. Services focus primarily on essential and basic veterinary care.
Clinic dates and locations vary.
Seattle Humane Community Clinic
Seattle Humane's Community Clinic provides reduced-cost veterinary wellness care for income-qualified families. Services include wellness exams and preventative care. Clinics are availanle at their Bellevue campus and through pop-up clinics around King County.
Seattle Humane Community Clinic
Washington Health Outreach
Washington Health Outreach provides free and low-cost veterinary services for income-qualified families. They also maintain a directory of veterinary care and financial assistance resources throughout Washington.

Payment Plans & Veterinary Financing
If financial assistance is not available or does not cover the full cost of care, a payment plan or financing may be another option.
Please keep in mind that financing is different from financial assistance. These programs involve credit or payment plans, and approval, interest rates, fees, and promotional terms vary. Review the terms carefully before accepting financing.
Scratch Pay

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card designed to help you pay for your pet’s health and wellness over time instead of having to pay for everything all at once.

Tips for Applying for Financial Assistance
Apply as soon as possible. Many organizations have limited funding, and applications can take time to process.
Try more than one organization. Eligibility requirements and available funding vary, so one organization may be able to help when another cannot.
Have you veterinary information ready. Many programs may ask for a diagnosis, medical records, or an estimate for recommended treatment.
Ask how the organization handles payments. Some organizations pay the veterinary hospital directly, while others may reimburse the pet owner or use a different payment.
Let us know if you are having trouble affording your pet's care. Our team may be able to help you prioritze recommendations, discuss different treatment options, or provide an estimate to sue when applying for assistance.
If your pet is experiencing an emergency, do not delay necessary veterinary care while waiting for financial assistance. Assistance is not guaranteed and may not be available quickly enough for an emergency.
